I use Scratchpad throughout my entire day as an Account Executive. I use it to take notes for all of my calls which can be linked to the SFDC opportunity and it auto-updates every time I make changes in SP. I also use it to update my SFDC pipeline. Their UI makes it easy to make mass edits and changes to SFDC fields without the extra clicks that Salesforce makes you go through. It's integrated into Chrome so every time I open a new tab it's Scratchpad which makes it really convenient to access. It has helped my productivity tremendously.
  • Salesforce pipeline updates
  • Note taking - linked to SFDC
  • Note taking linked to GCal events
  • Tasks management
  • More editing options for notes like font colors, better customization for lists (numbers, bullets, etc)
  • Show dependencies when updating SFDC Opps.
  • View my GCal events on the Scratchpad homepage
  • Ability to create tables in notes
I think for what it's built for it's pretty near perfect. Don't expect this to be as sophisticated as a rev intelligence tool like Clari. Scratchpad is simply a productivity tool for sales reps who use Salesforce to take notes and update fields easily. Their UI is super intuitive to use and there was a very small learning curve. I gave it a 9 because there are areas for improvement, like more text/font customization options and creating tables in notes.
  • It's saved me a lot of time
I can't think of another tool similar to Scratchpad. The only other sales productivity tool that I've used in the past is Mixmax which is also an excellent tool. Mixmax has more features embedded in Gmail with the ability to view and edit Salesforce fields like Scratchpad, but I wouldn't consider them to be replacements for each other.

I and some others on my team use Scratchpad as a more convenient and quick way of interacting with our opportunities from Salesforce. I found that Salesforce lightning is actually very slow, and it seems that using Scratchpad is actually a much faster process. It's also a lot easier to customize and modify my reports, due to Scratchpad's interface just being so much more user-friendly.
  • Reviewing Accounts or Opportunities
  • Adding notes
  • Saving workflows for frequent Salesforce processes
  • I'd love to be able to do even more of what I do in Saleforce in Scratchpads interface.
  • It would be nice to be able to update fields that require a workflow in Salesforce via Scratchpad
Frankly, if I can do something in Scratchpad instead of Salesforce, I prefer Scratchpad because it's faster, easier, simpler, with a much more readable and useable interface. Salesforce has been getting requests to allow font size modification for over a decade and hasn't even done that. That's what sent me looking for something like Scratchpad. I sort of view it as a much more user-friendly UI to layover SF. It's faster and less frustrating than SF for frequent daily activities. It's great for creating notes and tracking tasks at a basic level in a much more user friendly environment than Salesforce. But it interacts w/ SF, which is great!
  • It saves me time
  • It saves me frustration of working within Salesforce for the little things
  • It's got a great free tier for a Customer Success use case.
  • It's not the best solution for everything. It's not a Swiss army knife. But what it does, it does best.
Scratchpad is just a much more enjoyable way of interacting with Salesforce for the features it currently supports. It's not an alternative to Salesforce, it's an alternative UX for certain daily activities in SF, and it's great at that.

Currently, I use an individual account for pipeline management and notes features every day. It is much easier to update and organise my opportunities in Scratchpad than doing it in Salesforce. It automatically updates relevant fields as well in Salesforce. The Scratchpad team is also amazingly fast at developing new features, which are making it even more effective day by day.
  • Scratchpad pipeline management and admin work easy
  • I enjoy easy call notes feature integrated to my calendar events
  • Quick integration with Salesforce
  • Plugin works flawlessly
  • I honestly can not think of any improvement point. The existing features work perfectly. More features like reports and dashboards could be nice to have.
If you use Salesforce and manage a book of business, Scratchpad is great to use.
  • It provides me with better visibility over my pipeline and helps me gain time with admin work.

Problems
  • Internal sales force has bloated field structure, too many unnecessary ones
  • Reports for forecasting per salesperson can better

Scratchpad Use Case
  • Reporting of pipeline account by account, quarter on quarter with short notes detailing next steps
  • Taking notes during discovery calls and internal account planning meetings
  • Scheduling next step notes for each account
  • Pipeline view is excellent, gives great control and keeps things simple
  • Reliability and speed of app
  • Notes section is a great feature
  • Notes app can be more closely tied to pipeline
  • Outlook integration
  • Tagging features in the notes
  • Task function is a bit too hidden, I would like it to be more closely integrated to pipeline and notes
Well Suited
For those that don't need to muck around Salesforce too much and need a clean view of your opps and accounts and pipeline.
Single source of truth for account interactions. Notes and Pipeline view harmonize well. No more separated notes in Word docs. Now whatever notes I take down on Scratchpad is reflected and saved in my Salesforce.
  • Saved tons of time on SF admin
  • Clearer forecasting of opportunities
  • Better account management
  • Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)
Before finding Scratchpad, logging account movements and mapping were done over OneNote (account management), Excel (pricing), and Word (call notes). Now I can get rid of the OneNote and Word aspects as they both sit on Scratchpad that links directly back to SF. This has helped so much in organizing my workflow and reducing the number of apps I need to access.

We use it to do things that are hard in Salesforce - update pipeline, mass transfer leads, and update opportunties.
  • Updating pipeline.
  • Converting leads.
  • Keeping notes all together.
  • When pulling in Salesforce reports, it doesn't have full ability to do grouping/sorting.
  • When looking at pipeline view there's not an ability to expand the default view to see more than 5 people per group.
  • It'd be nice if comments would go as a task rather than a buzz.
Scratchpad does a good job acting as a better UI for SF. Its benefit is also its fault - it's so customizable with the tiles that less tech-savvy people have a hard time adapting.
  • The biggest benefit is that it gives one common UI (other than Salesforce) to track the pipeline and make adjustments. It helps to have a common tool to train the sales team.
Scratchpad has more out-of-the-box features like centralized note-taking and the ability to pull in reports.
